Poison Pen is a way for us filmmakers to combine our love of the visual image with our love of music. Good pop songs have hooks, dynamics, light and shade.

We aim to make pop videos that have the same. This is our excuse to pour out a jumble of throbbing thoughts that then ride off on a tangent and back again to form good ideas.

Why concentrate on music promos?

Some might say the medium is simply an elongated commercial. Others might say that it is a short film that happens to be set to music. We say that it is a mixture of the creative and the commercial where the sound and pictures are inseperable. Yes it's a short film - a three minute window in which to tell an enthralling story.

But it's A very short film that lots of people will see - not banished to film festival obscurity. And if it happens to be promoting the release of a record then it's also a commercial - a visual representation of the musical vision of the artists. We love the fact that pop videos can be all these things at once and that's why we do them.
